Infrastructure Frequently asked questions

Ground movement can affect every type of infrastructure — from railways and roads to ports, airports, and public buildings. To help asset managers, engineers, and contractors understand how our solutions work, we’ve compiled answers to the most common questions about Geobear’s infrastructure ground improvement services.

We work across all major sectors including Highways (RTA/federal roads), Rail & Metro, Airports, Ports, and Utilities (power/water/district cooling).

Our geopolymer injection method stabilizes ground and extends asset life without the need for excavation or road closures.

Most projects are completed in days rather than weeks. Rail, highway, and airport works can often be delivered overnight or during scheduled possessions.

No. Our process is non-intrusive and can usually be carried out while assets remain in service, minimizing downtime and public disruption.

Yes. Our geopolymers achieve compressive strengths comparable to concrete and are used beneath heavy port slabs, runways, and rail trackbeds worldwide.

We use laser monitoring and precise injection mapping to control lift and pressure, achieving millimeter accuracy even under live assets.

Yes. Our geopolymer expands to fill voids and re-establish contact between slabs and subgrade without the need for replacement or excavation.

Our solution produces up to 75% less CO₂e than conventional concrete or piling methods and generates zero waste or spoil removal.

Yes. Sabkha soils are chemically aggressive (high salinity/sulfates) and prone to dissolution. Our geopolymers are chemically inert and highly resistant to chemical attack.

They do not degrade in saline conditions and are effective at encapsulating loose Sabkha layers to prevent further dissolution and settlement.

The treatment is permanent. The geopolymer does not shrink, degrade, or wash out, ensuring long-term stability and asset protection.

Yes. Our equipment and materials are designed to function effectively in high ambient temperatures. The curing process of our geopolymer is exothermic (generates heat) and is not negatively impacted by the UAE’s summer climate.

We use specialized hydro-insensitive geopolymers that react and cure even when submerged in water. This allows us to displace water and seal leaks in deep excavations or treat submerged soil layers without dewatering.

Yes. For assets built on reclaimed land (loose granular fill), we use our injection process to densify the soil matrix. This increases the SPT (Standard Penetration Test) blow counts and relative density, significantly reducing the risk of liquefaction during seismic events or heavy vibration.

Absolutely. We have successfully treated ground beneath A380 runways and heavy container terminal slabs. Our high-density geopolymers can achieve compressive strengths comparable to concrete, and when confined in the soil, they create a composite mass capable of supporting extreme static and dynamic loads.
