A 1930s semi-detached house in Berkshire suffered structural damage to its front, resulting in an insurance claim. An inspection determined the cause was clay shrinkage subsidence, exacerbated by tree root influence, affecting the 0.8m deep foundations sitting on medium shrinkable clay.
The customer, an insurance provider and their loss adjuster, needed to resolve the claim. Their goal was a solution that was not only technically effective but also fast, to minimise the stress and disruption for the homeowner.
Traditional underpinning was a long, invasive, and costly process. They required a swift, expert-led resolution to satisfy their policyholder and close the case efficiently.

Level monitoring was used at all locations to confirm contact with the foundation's underside. The entire designed solution was completed by our crew in just one day.
