Information obtained about ground conditions will influence our engineering design in terms of developing an appropriate design and to remediate the subsidence issue you may face.
In principle, a soil or ground investigation is a way to determine the condition of the ground. This information is used in conjunction with findings from a wider site investigation which includes additional information sourced via a site visit from one of Geobear’s regional managers and other structural reports.

Once all this data is collated and assessed we will provide a bespoke solution specifically for your property.
The investigation will help us to determine many things, such as mechanical properties of the soil or voids underground. There are a number of different ways to collect data including boreholes, dynamic probes or trial pits.
- Borehole data is used to understand the composition of soils to varying depths.
- Dynamic Probe will test the strength of the soil
- Trial pit used to investigate shallow ground conditions and assess existing foundation depths.
Our regional manager may require some of this data in order for an accurate solution to be designed. You may already have this information, if not Geobear can provide the necessary service or arrange for this to take place.
